ECSECO Annual Space Economy Days
16/01/2024 - 17/01/2024
ESA HQ, Paris (France)
The Space Economy Days 2024 will be the first edition of an annual event for the ECSECO community to learn and reflect on specific space economy trends and research areas.
This event will take place on 16-17 January in the new ESA Headquarters Mario Nikis in Paris. Sign up using this form.
Following the exchanges with ECSECO members at the first General Meeting of the Members in November 2022, the first edition will be focusing on two essential topics in the domain the access and uptake of space economy data in Europe and the choice, applicability, and relevance of methodologies.
The first day will commence with an exploration of the space economy’s definition and the techniques utilized for assessing its global scale. Additionally, there will be discussions on the diverse strategies employed to quantify the space economies at a national level.
On the second day the focus will shift to the detailed examination of the downstream measurement in the space sector and the assessment of private sector investments in space. The day will also include presentations on various methods for evaluating the practical benefits and applications derived from space activities.
To make this event most relevant to the ECSECO members, an online survey was conducted in spring 2023. The schedule can be downloaded here.
