Upcoming in October 2023: First ever Edition of the annual ECSECO Space Economy Days at ESA HQ [May/2023]
The European Centre for Space
Economy and Commerce (ECSECO) introduces their new flagship event – the annual
Space Economy Days. The event will see its first edition - the Space
Economy Days 2023 – on the 16-17 October 2023. It offers a unique opportunity for
ECSECO members to learn and reflect on specific space economy trends, data, and
methodologies. The Space Economy Days 2023 will be organised in the new ESA
Headquarters in Paris.
Following the exchanges with
ECSECO community at the first General Meeting of the Members in November 2022,
the first edition will focus on two essential topics: Access and uptake of
space economy data in Europe and the choice, applicability, and relevance of
methodologies.
The first day will focus on
primary data sources that provide measures of the European Space Economy,
building on the different perspectives on needs and data gaps identified by the
ECSECO members, with the objective to work on a way forward and potential
actions for the ECSECO community. The second day will focus on relevant
methodological approaches to measure the European Space Economy, addressing
different methodologies, with the objective to work on a way forward and
potential actions for the ECSECO community.
To make this event most relevant
to the ECSECO members, an online survey is currently being conducted to prepare
the content that will be discussed over the two days. We kindly invite all
members of ECSECO to answer the survey.
