The International, North American and European Statistical Classifications for Space Economy Measurement” launch event [Dec/2023]

On the 15th of December 2023, the launch event of the publication “the International, North American and European Statistical Classifications for Space Economy Measurement” was held in Paris at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

After two years of close cooperation between the OECD, the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the European Space Agency (ESA), Eurostat and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), the successful event marked the milestone of releasing the first ever comprehensive list of statistical codes to measure the space economy at the international level, for the United States of America and for Europe. It was a unique occasion for mutual exchange of opinions among the participants, helping to push the long-term cooperation among these actors further in the future. The event saw a series of keynote presentations from high-level speakers of all involved institutions.
